Our Story
A Workshop Built Around the Watch, Not the Clock
Tickwise was founded in Melaka with a simple belief: a watch brought in for service deserves the same careful attention regardless of its brand, age, or price.

How It Began
Tickwise opened its workshop on Jalan Bendahara in Melaka after years of the founder, Razman Yusoff, observing that watch repair in Malaysia often meant one of two extremes: a rushed battery change at a shopping mall counter, or an expensive brand service centre visit with limited communication and long waiting times.
The gap in the middle — a calm, technically capable independent workshop where the owner could bring a watch and expect an honest conversation — felt worth filling. Tickwise was that answer.
From the outset, the workshop has operated on the principle that service should follow the watch's needs, not a standard package list. Every timepiece that comes in receives an individual assessment before any work is discussed.
What Guides Us
Three values have shaped every decision made at Tickwise. The first is transparency — we share what we find, explain what it means, and never proceed with work beyond what has been agreed.
The second is patience. Watches reward it. A movement cleaned carefully and reassembled without shortcuts will run well for years. Restoration work that takes twelve weeks rather than four often produces a result that justifies the difference.
The third is respect — for the watch itself, for the person who brings it in, and for the craft that has kept mechanical timekeeping alive across centuries.
The People Behind the Work
A small, focused team — each person chosen for their care as much as their skill.
Razman Yusoff
Founder & Master Watchmaker
Over two decades working with Swiss and Japanese calibres, with specialist training in movement overhaul and restoration. Razman leads every restoration project personally.
Nur Izzati Hamdan
Service Coordinator
Nur Izzati manages client communication and service scheduling, ensuring every watch is tracked carefully and every owner stays informed throughout the process.
Khairul Hizam
Technical Watchmaker
Khairul handles precision overhaul work and evaluation services. His background includes training in both electronic quartz diagnostics and mechanical movement servicing.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These are not certifications listed for appearances — they describe the actual conduct of every service carried out at Tickwise.
Timing Machine Verification
Every serviced movement is measured on a calibrated timing machine across multiple positions before returning to the owner.
Manufacturer-Grade Lubricants
We use only branded watchmaking lubricants stored according to manufacturer specifications. No substitutes.
Pre-Work Agreement
No work exceeds the scope agreed with the owner. If additional issues are found, we report and seek approval before continuing.
Secure Watch Handling
All watches in service are stored in individual labelled compartments. Your watch is never mixed with another client's timepiece.
Photographic Documentation
Restoration and overhaul services include photographs of the watch's condition at intake, during the process, and upon completion.
Post-Service Observation
Precision overhauls include a 48-hour observation period to confirm accuracy holds under real-world wear conditions.
Watch Repair Expertise in Melaka
Tickwise operates from a dedicated workshop in central Melaka, serving watch owners from across the state and beyond. The work spans quartz battery replacement and crown sealing through to complex mechanical overhaul and multi-week heritage restoration projects.
Our watchmakers have experience across a wide range of calibre families — Japanese automatic and quartz movements, Swiss lever escapement mechanisms, vintage hand-wound calibres — and the tools to assess and service each correctly. Timing machines, ultrasonic cleaning equipment, and a controlled parts storage environment form the technical foundation of each service.
The workshop operates with a strong emphasis on owner communication. We take the view that a watch owner who understands what was done, and why, is better placed to care for their timepiece in the years ahead. Written records accompany every service of substance, and clients are always welcome to ask questions before, during, or after the work.
