Our Services
Three Services, Each Shaped for a Different Kind of Need
From a brief performance check to a months-long heritage restoration — Tickwise offers a service that fits what your watch actually requires.
Back to HomeOur Approach to Every Watch
Every watch that comes into Tickwise begins with the same process: an honest look at its current condition, a clear explanation of what was found, and a conversation about what the owner would like to happen next. No work proceeds without that understanding in place.
Assess
Thorough evaluation of movement, case, and condition before any service plan is discussed.
Discuss
Findings shared clearly with the owner. Service options presented without pressure.
Service
Agreed work carried out to the appropriate standard, documented, and verified before return.
Timekeeping Evaluation
A calm, informative service that puts your watch's current performance into perspective. The watchmaker uses a timing machine to test accuracy, evaluates the battery or automatic winding system, inspects the crown and case back seals, and gives the exterior a careful visual review. You leave with a clear, honest picture of where your watch stands — and whether any further attention might be worth considering in the future. No pressure. Just information.
What the service covers:
- Timing machine test — daily rate, amplitude, beat error
- Battery condition or automatic winding mechanism review
- Crown and pushers function check
- Case back and crown tube seal assessment
- Visual exterior review — crystal, case, bracelet or strap
- Written summary of findings provided to owner
Process steps:
Watch received and intake photograph taken
Movement placed on timing machine for multi-position reading
Power source and winding system evaluated
Exterior assessed and seal condition noted
Written report prepared and discussed with owner

Precision Overhaul
A rigorous yet thoughtful service that addresses every functional element of the watch. The movement is fully stripped, cleaned ultrasonically, and rebuilt with fresh lubricants and replacement of any worn parts. The escapement is evaluated for correct function and adjusted as needed. Timing is measured and optimised across multiple positions. The case is opened, cleaned, and refitted with new gaskets. Crystal condition is assessed and addressed if needed. The watch then undergoes a 48-hour accuracy observation under real-world conditions.
What the service covers:
- Full movement disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, and inspection
- Fresh lubrication to manufacturer specifications
- Worn or faulty part replacement (quoted separately if significant)
- Escapement assessment and pallet jewel evaluation
